Grand Prix Dressage Trainer
Kate began riding while in Houston in the late 70’s. She moved back East and while living on the upper East side became interested in dressage, and bought her first horse.
While on the horse show circuit she met and later married Christophe Theallet. Chris was born in France and trained in at Saumur, France. Kate and Chris started Waterbury Dressage Center in Warwick, New York. Dressage was becoming popular about that time and their business flourished. Kate and Chris divorced after 16 years.
Kate’s additional training in dressage was in the early 2000s with Patrick le Rolland in Normandy France. A renowned equestrian Patrick participated in 2 Olympic Games and was trainer of the French Dressage team.
Kates experience at Waterbury Dressage includes: breeding and training European Warm Bloods, training clients in dressage, organizing clinics, and competitions. She traveled with her clients and bought horses for them in Germany, France, Holland and the U.S.
She has competed at all levels of dressage through Grand Prix in competitions at: Devon, Wellington, Windy Hollow Hunt, and USET Gladstone.
